Nightingale Academy is part of the London Academies Enterprise Trust (LAET) sponsored by the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) and the Greater London Authority (GLA) and was one of the first Mayor’s Academies in London.    We were established as an academy in 2010.

Nightingale has set high expectations. Under new leadership, the academy is improving rapidly.   The Science Faculty at Nightingale Academy is a fast moving, forward thinking place to work with excellent leaders to support the continuous drive for improvement and excellence. We have 8 refurbished labs equipped with interactive white boards, 3 prep rooms and a computer room. We have very high aspirations and strongly believe that our students will be the best they can be, if you are passionate about educating students and opening doors for young minds then this is your opportunity to join us on our journey to raise and maintain high levels of achievement for all in Science.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, determined Director of Science who will create an environment that will inspire, motivate and challenge our students to achieve.

The successful candidate will have the responsible for:

·   Students’ learning outcomes within the science area, other TLR post holders within the area, teaching staff and other relevant personnel within the Faculty

·   Monitoring of standards of delivery of all Key stages provision in science

·   Building on the success of recent improvements in the faculty results with the ability to sustain and improve the continuing excellence.

Each of the academies within the AET is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Committed to safeguarding young people; enhanced DBS check is required.
