New provision: Education and Employment advice for Year 10 students

posted 11 Jun 2014, 07:12 by Jessica McGriskin

We are pleased to welcome ‘Changing Futures London’ to Nightingale Academy.

Changing Futures London is a programme for pupils aged 14 and over , they provide education and employment advice to students, at an early stage, to help students plan their future. Students will be supported on school premises, guiding them through a fun and engaging course of modules that helps them discover more about themselves, their interests, their career opportunities and how to improve their motivation, confidence and self-assertiveness.

The programme has already kicked off to a fantastic start, one of the students commented that the session was ‘an hour worth spending, an excellent idea for motivating students and breaking down their life so that more can be unveiled’

Mrs Gordon-Nicol, Senior employment and education adviser for Changing Futures London says: "The main aim of Changing Futures London is to provide pupils with robust intervention at a young age to prevent disengagement as they come towards the end of compulsory education. I am very excited to offer this opportunity to students because as an ex student of Nightingale Academy, I understand the challenge that students are facing when planning for their future. This service will provide a comprehensive provision to help students start thinking about these key decisions at an early stage."
