 What will you study?

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sports is a subject that helps to prepare you for work in the sports industry or for higher education within the fields of sport science and sport.

This is intended as a Tech Level qualification, equivalent in size to 1 A Level. It has been designed as part of a one/two-year programme, normally in conjunction with one or more qualifications at Level 3.

This qualification is aimed at learners looking to progress to employment in sports performance and/or coaching and whose aspirations would also be supported by taking complementary qualifications alongside.

 

The BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sports qualifications are assessed through coursework and written exams.

You will be given assignments that cover all of the grading criteria for each unit that you are studying.

Success in this qualification is a combination of your teacher’s expertise, your own motivation and ability as a     student, and accessibility to the appropriate resources.

Additionally, students will have the opportunity to complete various coaching  and officiating qualifications as well as attending trips out to a variety of sport related institutions and venues.

Course basics:  There are 3 mandatory units and 1 optional unit.  Two are internally assessed and 2 are externally assessed.

There are 2 externally assessed units   Anatomy and Physiology and  Fitness training and programming for Health, Sport and Well-being.

You will then create a portfolio to show your work on the Professional development in the sports industry

And one unit additional unit from the following ;

· Sports leadership

· Application of fitness testing

· Sports psychology

· Practical sports performance
