Entry requirements: General entry requirements plus  a 7 or better in GCSE English Literature and GCSE English Language

What will you study?

You will study a range of challenging literature taken from the past 450 years of British  culture which will include poetry, plays and prose from a wide range of genres.


How will you be taught?  Your lessons will be taught in a variety of ways. There will be  opportunities to write reviews, essays, critiques of books poems and non-fiction texts. You will work with visual aids to support your learning such as films, documentaries and historical programmes.


Where can English Literature lead you? English literature is one of the most challenging yet rewarding subjects that you can chose at A Level.  As it is very academically demanding, it is a respected qualification that universities will want for subjects such as Law, Politics, Philosophy, PPE and many more!
