Pupil Premium 

The Pupil Premium is funding provided to schools in order to help improve education for children from low-income families who are, or have been, eligible for free school meals, or looked after children, or those children whose parents currently serve in the Armed Forces.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the Premium so that everyone within Nightingale Academy and the whole learning community can see how this extra support has been used and what impact it is making. 

At Nightingale Academy Pupil Premium funding has previously been used as follows:

  • Funding for Summer School
  • Specialist consultants teaching in English and Maths and providing whole staff training on differentiation and making progress
  • Additional literacy intervention classes for students who need extra support to improve reading, writing and communication skills
  • Additional time and staffing for English teaching to improve achievement in year 11 exams
  • 1 to 1 sessions for students with SEND in summer term 2012
  • Small group tuition classes
  • ME time
  • An addition to the whole school uniform to provide every student with the Nightingale winter hat 
  • Appointment of additional Teaching Assistants
  • Accelerated Reader Coordinator appointment
  • Partner with Tottenham Hotspur Foundation

2016/17 Pupil Premium Allocation

2015/16 Pupil Premium Review 

For 2015/16, Pupil Premium funding has been allocated to the various key areas across the Academy. These include developing language and communication strategies, intervention & support and healthy living.
